About The Author

Sankaran Ramani

Sankaran Ramani, B.E.,(Mech), B.E.(elect) M.Sc.,(Engg), PGDM(IIM Cal), PhD in Industrial Engineering (IIT, M) was a Professor of Industrial Engineering at IIT, (M) , and later Director of the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai. Subsequently he was Vice Chancellor of SCSVMV (Kanchi University) Post retirement, was engaged as an advisor to several universities and colleges such as Academy for Management Excellence, the Saveetha University, VIT University,Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Great Lakes Institute of management, Head of the Management department Vels University and was consulting Professor at the S.P.Jain Institute of Management at Mumbai. He is the author of several research papers published in Indian as well as international journals.

His current area of interest is Disaster and Emergency Management. Dr. Ramani is a past National President of the Indian Institute of Plant Engineers and also the past National President of the Indian institute of Industrial Engineering He was also the past Chairman of the Indian Institute of Materials Management, Chennai. He also acted as Asian Vice President of the - International Society for Emergency Management as also the World Confederation of Productivity Councils. He is co-author of the book s "Humour and Productivity", "Fortran Programming with Industrial and Engineering Applications" and "Top Managerial effectiveness".

Dr. Ramani has an Indian Pilot's 'A' license and has served in the Indian Auxiliary Air Force as a commissioned officer(flying officer -Technical Engineering.)
